Even if you use your tablet in every one of your classes, you can not get away from all of the paperwork that accumulates. Between tests, quizzes, homework, and handouts, the paperwork from a single semester can pile up.
The first thing that a Tablet PC user can do to organize paperwork is invest in a scanner. For the typical college student the cheapest scanner available should do. However, make sure it works with Vista if that is your OS. Older scanners are not supported under Vista and most manufactures don't ever plan on supporting them. A good plan is to buy an en inexpensive scanner from Staples, BestBuy, or an online retailer. For document scanning, even the lowest end scanner will suffice.
Besides using a scanner, organizing paper documents after they are scanned is an important part of staying organized. Using an Expanding File Pockets, preferably a plastic one, is an excellent way to keep an entire semester worth of work in one place.
It is important to keep the documents organized, so making a labeled tab for each class to keep documents will allow for easy access when you need to look up an old test, quiz, or homework. Also, some classes may produce more paperwork than other so dividing a class across multiple tabs can also assist in the organization process.
In general, keeping papers organized, while it requires some upfront effort, is an excellent way to reduce stress and after a semester is over. You can put the semester behind you by throwing the neatly organized file onto a shelf or into a box, never to be seen again (unless you need something of course).
