Primarily for students – will cover how students can best use DyKnow in the classroom
2:00 PM – 3:15 PM: Faculty/Staff Session
Primarily for instructors – will present best practices & examples of use
3:30 PM – 4:30 PM: Open Question & Answer Session

Dr. Thede received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo in 1993. He then attended Purdue University earning a Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1994, and finally earning his Ph.D. in Computer and Electrical Engineering in 1999. He has been teaching computer science at DePauw University since 1999 and using DyKnow since 2002. His field of interest is Artificial Intelligence (AI), notably the area of Natural Language Processing (NLP). Currently, he is working on a system called PARE (Pruner and Redundancy Eliminator) which performs automatic document summarization.
